Making our Gas Mask Boxes

We've been busy this afternoon making our own gas mask box from a cuboid net, we worked really carefully to cut around the template, we shaded it with a light brown wax crayon and then stuck it together using folding and glueing. The children worked really hard as it was quite a fiddly job and there was some fantastic team work going on.
 

 

BBC Children In Need

We've had a great dey supporting Pudsey and BBC Children In Need, we looked fabulous in our own clothes.

Evacuee Suitcase

Today we made our own evacuee suitcase we had to choose a few things that were really special to us to take away. We thought really carefully and discussed as a class what was important and why. Lots of children decided to take family photographs to remember their loved ones and also special teddy bears to snuggle at night seemed very popular. 

2Fo Blitz

Today the air raid siren sounded and we all had to take cover. We found the experience exciting however we thought about what it would really feel like if we were children in WW2. Tomorrow we are going to learn more all about where bombing took place, and in particular where it took place near us.

Chinese Panda's

As part of our topic Continents we have been learning about China within the Continent Asia. We found out that Panda's are native to China. To create our amazing panda artwork we used wax crayons to draw the panda and cotton wool for their white fur. We also created a green wash for the panda to sit on. 

Happy Autumn!

We had so much fun playing in the Autumn leaves today at lunchtime with our friends.

Food Chains

This week in Science we have been learning all about food chains, the children were excellent at using the correct vocabulary such as; producer, consumer, prey and predator.

Happiness Boxes 
We are all looking very happy with our happiness boxes! We love playing with our special toys in them and looking at pictures of our lovely families. 

Globes 

This week we have been busy making Globes to help us learn all about the 7 Continents that make up the world. We used paper mache on balloons to make the globe, we then labelled and cut out our own continents and stuck them on in the correct place.
